About

A bit about me

Puya Rahmanian is a software engineer and builder. He works on Snap's Profile & Creators team, where he owns the public web profile experience and its SEO — making profile pages fast, crawlable, and discovered by search engines and AI assistants. Search visibility is treated as a core product surface, not an afterthought.

Every role has been a deliberate rep toward building products end to end. At Amazon Web Services he built backend distributed systems for S3 Glacier, where high standards for reliability and availability were non-negotiable. At Google he moved closer to the user — consumer product, mobile development, and UX on the Android Dialer, still highly reliable at massive scale. At Snap the question changed from how to build to how products grow.

Now he is compounding those skills into entrepreneurship: shipping and iterating on his own products — Puzzably, AlloyHaus, Goat Music, and Goat Studio — each one a faster rep at taking an idea from zero to a live product with real distribution. He studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.

  1. Snap

    Profile & Creators

    The rep: how products grow — distribution, SEO, and consumer delight.

    • Own the web profile experience — the public-facing profile page that surfaces creators and their content to the open web.
    • Lead SEO and organic-growth work for profiles, improving how profile pages are crawled, indexed, and discovered through search.

  2. Google

    Android Dialer

    The rep: consumer product craft — mobile, UX, and creativity at reliable scale.

    • Led the ground-up reimplementation of the Dialer on Android Auto, closing feature gaps and reaching parity with the mobile dialer.
    • Shipped v3 of Direct My Call through a four-arm UX experiment that doubled feature engagement.
    • Built and maintained hero features — Call Screening, Hold For Me, Direct My Call — and instrumented metrics around critical user journeys.

  3. Amazon Web Services

    S3 Glacier

    The rep: distributed systems and the discipline of high reliability and availability.

    • Built and operated RESTful services that schedule and execute I/O on S3 Glacier cold-storage hardware, with monitoring for hardware health, availability, and data durability.
    • Designed automation to improve hardware reliability while reducing cost and labor; rotated on-call to root-cause and resolve operational events.

  4. T-Mobile

    TVision

    The rep: first production backend systems.

    • Built backend services for TVision, T-Mobile’s live-TV streaming product.

  5. Dell EMC

    Software Engineering Intern

    The rep: engineering fundamentals and test automation.

    • Two software engineering internships across consecutive summers.
